I make portraits as a form of listening. Each image begins with attention—toward gesture, history, and the small truths that surface when a person is given room to arrive.

An image can be a meeting place.

I work slowly enough for a portrait to become more than a likeness: a record of atmosphere, agency, and the singular way a person inhabits a moment.
